If you need to insert a watermark
into your Word 2010 document, it’s pretty easy! You can insert a
template-based watermark or you can create your own using your own text
or your own image.
Oddly, you would have thought to insert a watermark, you would go to
the Insert ribbon, right? Wrong! You can always count on Microsoft to
make you hunt for simple options like inserting watermarks.
Anyway, it’s under the Page Layout ribbon. Towards the center you will see the option called Watermark.
If you click on the Watermark button, you’ll see a bunch of options like below:
By default, there is Confidential, DO NOT COPY, DRAFT, SAMPLE, ASAP,
and URGRENT. Clicking on any of them will insert the watermark onto all
of your pages for the current document.
You can also click Custom Watermark and you’ll get the following dialog box:
You can choose from either Picture watermark or Text watermark. The first option is nice if you have already created your own image watermark using a program like Photoshop or something.
For a text watermark, you can type in any text you want and change
the font, size, color and the layout (horizontal or diagonal).
Lastly, you can click on More watermarks from Office.com, which will
load up more templates that you can download and use if you like.
So there you have it. Inserting a watermark into Word 2010 is a pretty straight-forward process!
