The hunt for the perfect PowerPoint template is a perpetual one. Wading through the themes in Microsoft’s collection leaves most of us wanting something more, new and different. Teachers, students and business professionals have a constant need for inspiring presentations, but it often feels like the best PowerPoint templates on the Web cost $30 or more. Here are a few sites that have great templates, all for free:
1. FPPT.info
Free-Power-Point-Templates.com (better known as FPPT.info) has a collection of over 700 completely free PowerPoint templates. Some of the slides have the Web site’s address in the bottom left corner, but most do not. There are professional looking templates in categories for agriculture, art, business, medicine, film, games, education, religion and even Spongebob Squarepants.
2. TemplatesWise.com
TTemplatesWise.com has a large collection of templates made from photographs, abstract graphics and clipart. Categories include business, finance, nature and travel. Besides templates, the site offers free charts, diagrams and music loops, so basically anything needed for a great PowerPoint presentation can be found here. And, if the site does not have what you need, there are tutorial articles for making your own PowerPoint templates.
3. Presentations ETC
Presentations Etc. is a project funded by the University of South Florida. The site boasts over 20,000 backgrounds, themes, templates and photo mats—all free for non-commercial use by students and educators, though there is nothing on the site restricting anyone else from using the slides. Most backgrounds are available in two sizes: 800×600 and 1024×768. PowerPoint templates are already formatted either for Mac or PC.
